UPDATE YOUR COOKING SPACE WITH MINERAL TILES GLASS MOSAIC BACKSPLASH

by

We’ve begun the kitchen portion of the home makeover, and I’m already really excited about the way things are going to turn out. Today I want to show you our new backsplash.

Mineral Tiles Glass Mosaic Backsplash Tile

I received this product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

For some reason our wall attracts grease and stains. No matter how hard I scrub, I just can’t get it all to come off, so I needed an alternative that would both cover up the mess there now and make it so that new messes were easier to get rid of.

We wanted something nice and inexpensive (a hard to find combination!) and we decided that backsplash would be a much nicer option than wallpaper. It’s probably also easier to apply. I’ve heard so many wallpaper horror stories!

We used Mussel Bound Adhesive paper to stick the tile to the wall instead of mortar because it’s less damaging and much cleaner. It’s easy to find – we picked it up at Lowe’s. I’ll definitely be using it for more projects. Applying it was a breeze, and the roll covers 15 sq ft, 12in x 15ft, so one roll is plenty for most DIY things around here.

We used Mineral Tiles Glass Mosaic Backsplash Tile 1×1 in the color Coffee (if you haven’t figured out that I love Earth tones by now you don’t read my blog enough!). It’s so shiny and pretty. The pictures don’t do it justice. It just gives such a deep, rich feeling to the entire room. Because it’s glass, if it gets dirty, I simply wipe it off. It couldn’t be easier.

Even now, I can’t believe how inexpensive it was to do this. A square foot of tile is only $8.95. That’s a small price to pay for what looks like new construction in my house. Have I mentioned that I’m in love with the look?

There are so many color options too. The tile comes in pink, tangerine, different shades of browns, blues, and reds, and even mosaic styles if you’re looking for something a little bit more patterned. I was impressed by the selection and had a little bit of a hard time deciding which tile I liked the best.

Putting it together was simple once we put up the adhesive we waited a day, then applied the backsplash, then waited a few more hours before grouting it. The hardest part was waiting the initial day for the adhesive to do its thing.

I love this transformation so much that I want to redo all the tile in the entire house! What do you think?
