I recently received several small packets of Sugru Self-Setting Rubber to try out and I’m extremely excited to show you the fun we had with it! My daughter is always asking to make jewelry and I’m always looking for new ideas for her. When I received the packets and read about the product, I thought it would be really fun to make Homemade Beads together!
Homemade Beads with Sugru Self-Setting Rubber
Supplies:
- mini packs of Sugru Self-Setting Rubber in multiple colors
- tooth picks
- imagination
Instructions:
We opened the little packets of various colors of Sugru and then pinched off small pieces.
Beads can be made in all different shapes and sizes and we used our imaginations to create them. Roll the Sugru between your fingers like you would playdough until you’ve made the shape and size you want.
Carefully insert a toothpick into the bead to create a hole for your sting or thread to slip through later.
Use a toothpick to add detail or pattern to the beads.
We made lots of beads!
Let the beads dry for 24 hours or overnight at least.
When the Sugru has become hard you can string your beads to create fun jewelry!
We had some Sugru left over after making our beads and just yesterday used it to repair one of my daughter’s school binders. We’ve found it is really useful for lots of projects around the house as well as great crafts!
