Valentine’s Day is coming soon. Our friends at Dollar Tree asked us to stop in and see what great things we could find to create a Valentine’s Day craft. We made this lovely whimsical Valentine’s Day Wreath for around $5 using supplies we found at our local Dollar Tree. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Dollar Tree.
Valentine’s Day Wreath
Supplies:
- grapevine wreath
- pink burlap ribbon
- white party plates
- Valentine’s Day card – I found an XOXO I loved
- red feather boa
- hot glue and glue gun
- twig
Instructions:
Begin by wrapping the vine wreath with the burlap ribbon. You may need more than one roll of ribbon depending on how big the wreath is. Secure the ribbon with a dab of hot glue.
When you’ve finished wrapping the wreath, trace hearts of several sizes onto the paper plates. Cut out the white paper hearts and the X’s and O’x from the Valentine’s Day card.
I also cut the border off of the card. The straight lines were perfect for making the end of my arrow. I cut four pieces, one end being straight and the other at an angle.
Carefully I attached them to the twig using hot glue. Attach a small paper plate heart to the opposite end of the twig to complete the arrow.
Attach several paper hearts to the burlap with hot glue.
Add the X’s and O’s, letting them overlap the paper hearts.
Add the arrow to the wreath, also attaching with hot glue.
Snip a several pieces from the feather boa and add to the wreath between the hearts and other items.
Tie a piece of twine or string around the wreath and enjoy for Valentine’s Day!
There are so many great things at Dollar Tree and using items in unexpected ways lets you get really creative! Think about all of the things you could make from cards, paper plates, ribbon, and more. I love shopping at the Dollar Tree for supplies for my home projects. I can always find items to make into something fun for my house. I also love that I can pick up dog food, gifts, snacks, party supplies, and so much more all in one place. My kiddos also enjoy trips to Dollar Tree as they can find so many things for their favorite crafts and gifts for friends.
