Spring has officially sprung and summer is only 50 odd days away, so it’s time to start thinking about cool, REFRESHING drinks. Few things are as good as coffee for putting a warm glow in you on a cold winter’s day but what to do when you need a pick me up once the temperature rises? Iced or blended coffees taste great but can be an expensive habit. If you could make it at home before you head out, how amazing would that be? Well, really they aren’t that hard, they just take a little planning.
Caramel Mocha Frappe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cold coffee
- 1 cup cold milk – or non dairy milk if you prefer
- 1/4 cup caramel syrup
- 1 tbsp chocolate syrup
- 1 tbsp raw sugar
While I used Hershey’s brand of syrup you could certainly use any brand or make your own homemade caramel or chocolate sauce.
Instructions:
The only real planning to this is that you need to freeze the coffee into ice cubes ahead of time. Once you realize how easy and delicious these are you’ll probably keep a bowl of coffee ice cubes on hand in your freezer next to the regular ice cubes!
Once the coffee is frozen, mix all the ingredients in the blender and blend it until it is smooth.
That’s it. Enjoy!
If you want to add a little something to the drink or make it look pretty for guests, top it with whipped topping and extra syrup!
What is really great about knowing how to make this is that you can easily adapt the recipe for any flavor frappe. Make a peppermint mocha or a pumpkin spice by switching out ingredients or adding in different flavors of extract. Flavored coffee creamer can also be used in place of part of the milk (I would not substitute all of the milk with creamer however).
You’ll love knowing what’s in your frappe, love how inexpensive they are to make, and love that you can enjoy this at home in your pajamas without ever leaving the house!
