Can you believe how fast the school year flew by? My oldest daughter is graduating high school next month, and I’ve been pretty busy planning her party. I love planning parties, but this one is a little bit bittersweet for me.
We’re expecting a pretty large group of people, so I headed over to Oriental Trading Company to find some great matching supplies. They have a little bit of everything over there. It was so easy picking out everything that I needed from start to finish that I’m kind of sad about how fast the ordering process was. The more time I spend planning, the less time I spend thinking about my baby being (almost) all grown up!
Let’s start with the eating part of the party, because that’s usually everyone’s favorite. I picked out utensils, plates in a few sizes, cups, napkins, a tablecloth, and even some things I never expected to find, like straws that say “Class of 2015” and picks! (For cupcakes and hors d’oeuvres, not for picking teeth, though I’m sure someone will do that anyway. I just hope I don’t notice!
They have everything I could possibly need for decorating too, like banners, paper lanterns, garland, table skirts, card boxes, treat boxes, and even tiny little graduation cap confetti! I’m in awe of the selection of things they have, and in so many different colors. You could probably easily match your school colors, and if your school has an odd color, you can just choose your graduate’s favorite and decorate it up! We got everything with a lot of color, because it
was bright and fun just like my daughter. Oriental Trading also carries tabletop fountains, garland, door curtains, and even a sign for this proud mama’s lawn.
I made sure I ordered some favors for the guests too – I was able to choose from graduation swirl pops, bubbles, beach balls, different types of sunglasses, and camouflage bracelets, all with graduation messages on them. I’ve never seen so many awesome graduation items in the same place.
Even better, they’re unbelievably reasonably priced. For example – a “Congrats Grad” table cloth is only $3.50! You really can’t go wrong.
Oriental Trading isn’t just for graduation parties though. You can find all sorts of things there, including things for weddings and other parties, craft and hobby supplies, teaching supplies and stationery, and lots of toys and novelties. Stocking stuffers, anyone? I’m so glad I ordered from Oriental Trading and I plan to do it again in the near future. I saw so many great things I want to get for various events throughout the year that I’ll probably be their new best customer.
Too bad they don’t sell Kleenex…I have a feeling I’ll need to buy it in bulk for graduation!
