Have you seen the commercial for Cloudpets? We watch a lot of Nickelodeon and Disney around here, and those commercials are always on. I always thought they were so cute! When Ty asked me if I wanted to review one, I jumped right in on the chance to do it. A little over a week later, our family had a new kitty cat. We named him Kitty. Original, right?
Anyway, Kitty is really soft. Because he has a box of electronics in him, I expected him to be mechanical feeling. You can feel the box, and his bottom is plastic, but he’s soft enough to sleep with. And really cute.
I love his pretty blue eyes.
CloudPets let the child hear messages in the voice of someone far away. They’re perfect for military families, because someone stationed halfway across the world can send daily messages to loved ones at home. We thought it would be fun for my daughter because her sisters are away at college. They can call whenever they want, but it’s more fun for my little one to push Kitty’s paw and hear her sister say, “Have a great day at preschool!” It’s a message just for her and it really means a lot to her. She looks forward to the blinking heart indicator.
I’m not the most technical person on Earth, so I’m going to explain how it works the best I can. You download an app to your phone or tablet, and via Bluetooth, the Cloudpet connects to it. A person far away sends a message via the app from their app to yours, and when the Cloudpet is within 30 feet of the paired device, it receives the message and the heart starts blinking. The child presses the paw and the message plays. They can then record a message using the other paw and send one back. It’s really an awesome idea, and for such functionality, it’s very inexpensive – only $39.99.
You don’t have to worry about security issues either – your Cloudpet will only receive messages from people who you allow it to receive them from so there will be no creepos sending you stuff. Also, the people at Cloudpets approve the messages and that adds an extra layer of security.
Think of all the people your child doesn’t see on a regular basis that they’d love to hear from grandparents, older siblings, noncustodial parents, and even the people they live with. Sometimes I send my little one messages from the other room! (Okay so that may be a little bit excessive but I think it’s really fun!) Who doesn’t like to be reminded that they’re loved?
If you’d like to get your own, you can find Kitty, Puppy, Teddy, and Bunny at Cloudpets.com. Head on over and check out the cuteness!
