As long as I can remember, baking has always been a part of our holiday tradition. I baked with my mom, she baked with her mom, and my kids bake with me. I think it’s that way in most families. Holiday baking is a family tradition. #MemoriesInTheBaking
We’ve had some kitchen mishaps over the years – there was the year that we burned the cookies, the year that we ran out of butter, the year we had the flu and could barely make it through the first batch, and we’ll probably never forget the year I was in my 20s and drank a little too much wine the night before. Hungover baking isn’t always the best idea! We had lots of laughs that year (at my expense of course!). Not that I haven’t had a chance to get my revenge on my mom a time or two either. It’s always fun, even when one of us is a little bit “off”. Holiday baking with my family is something I’ve looked forward to since I was a kid, and I really look forward to continuing the tradition with my own kids for years to come.
NO-BAKE M&M® COOKIE BITES
Some of the recipes we make are more difficult, and some are super easy. The more you bake with someone, the better the results come out. My mom and I really can make some elaborate treats. When I bake with my kids, I stick to the simpler things. I’ve found that a child of just about any age can help with something when it comes to baking, even if it’s dumping what you already measured into the bowl. It means so much to them to be able to help, and it’s the sort of thing that holiday memories are made of. The recipe I want to share with you today is a pretty simple one. It’s for No-Bake M&M® Cookie Bites. They’re so GOOD!
- 1 cup Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 bag M&M’S® Holiday Baking Minis
- Optional Mix-in: 12 pouches SNICKERS® Bites, 8oz
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
HOW TO MAKE IT:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the oats, M&M’S®, peanut butter and honey.
Next, stir all ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.
Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Once chilled, roll into balls approximately 1″ in diameter.
Store in GLAD® containers, bags or wraps.
All of the ingredients as well as more holiday recipes and ideas are easily found at Target. To make things even better, you can probably find coupons for a lot of these ingredients in your Sunday paper!
