Designate a specific place for plates, bowls, cups, etc. By knowing ahead of time where things will go, you’ll have an easier time actually getting everything organized.

As you go through the room, you’ll want to decide what to keep and what to throw out. If you have a lamp that just sits on an end table and is never used, consider donating it or selling it.
