BEGINNER TIPS TO HOME ORGANIZATION

by

Organization tips

Um, tired of your home always feeling cluttered and messy? It’s probably time for you to embark on the journey of organizing your home. This can be overwhelming, especially if you’ve never really organized the rooms in your home before. If this sounds like you — check out these beginner tips to organization. They’re really helpful!

ORGANIZATION PLAN

Before you can even start thinking about organizing your home — you need to come up with an organization plan. Take a walk through your house with a notebook and pencil, writing down what you see. Write a list of storage spaces in each room — such as bookshelves, cabinets, and closets. This info will come in handy as you come up with an organization plan.

After you’ve walked through all of the rooms, get ready to write up an organization plan. This plan should include where you’ll store different items. For example, you can plan on what will go in each of your kitchen cabinets. Designate a specific place for plates, bowls, cups, etc. By knowing ahead of time where things will go, you’ll have an easier time actually getting everything organized.

GO THROUGH EACH ROOM

Once you’ve come up with an organization plan, it’s time to actually put things away! Get started in one room and begin organizing. As you go through the room, you’ll want to decide what to keep and what to throw out. If you have a lamp that just sits on an end table and is never used, consider donating it or selling it. By getting rid of the items you don’t need, you’re opening up space for things you do need. This will help your home look less cluttered and more organized!

TOTES, CRATES & BASKETS

If this is the first time organizing your home, you’ll want to invest in some totes, crates and baskets. These little storage items are great for putting smaller items away. Instead of leaving all of your remotes out on the coffee table, find a mini-organizer to put them in. You’ll be amazed at how much more organized your living room looks with remotes and gaming console controllers lying around.

Getting your home organized is a large task, but by making a plan and slowly working your way through the rooms in your house, you’ll be up for the challenge. Once your home is organized, it’ll be much easier to keep up with it.

What are some of your beginner tips to organization?
