Fast Food Review: Smashburger

by

I don’t usually eat burgers (I’m watching my waistline like most women I know), but I’ve heard so much about Smashburger that when I was asked to check it out, I couldn’t say NO. Um, off we went to the Smashburger at Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento.Spicy Jalapeno Baja Smash Burger

For those of you who haven’t been there, I’ll give you the shortened version of what exactly a Smash Burger is. They paint the grill with clarified unsalted butter, drop a ball of loosely packed never frozen Certified Angus Beef on there, and smash it with their smasher for a perfect 10 seconds. They sprinkle some seasonings on it and cook it to perfection, put it on an artisan bun, top it with a bunch of fresh ingredients, and you get served one of the best burgers you’ve ever tasted.

Are you hungry yet?

We ordered the Classic Smash, BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar Chicken Smash, Spicy Jalapeno Baja Smash Burger and Norcal (Each Smashburger location has their own specialty burger. Ours is the Norcal.) We loved every single one of them. The burgers were cooked perfectly and even the “accessories” were amazing. The chipotle mayo on the Spicy Jalapeno Baja Smash had just the right amount of smoke and tang, and the smash sauce was sooo good. I’ll never look at a burger the same way againNorcal Smash Burger!

One thing I liked about Smashburger is that they had a very simple orderinClassic Smashg process– you can either build your burger from the bun up or choose one of their amazing pre‐designed flavors. Simple, right? Simple is usually better in my opinion.

You can also get fresh salads that include choices like Spinach and Goat Cheese and Cobb Salad. Love fries but don’t want the calories? You can choose from options like Veggie Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and even Fried Pickles. Delicious doesn’t have to ruin your waist line after all!BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar Chicken Smash

There are several locations across the country and this particular Smashburger was pretty good. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and we didn’t have to wait in line a long time to get our food. You can also order online, which is awesome. At the time I wrote this, the wait time from ordering at home to picking up at our local Smash Burger is about 15 minutes. You simply order online and then go pick it up. Couldn’t be easier. We really enjoyed our Smashburger experience and will be going back again soon.
