Camping season is here already in some parts of the country! If you LOVE camping but the thought of sleeping on the cold, hard ground isn’t your cup of tea (um, it’s not mine!), consider taking the Queen DuraRest Plus Double High Airbed I was asked to review on your next camping trip. It’s PERFECT!!
I actually set it up in the house because we don’t have any trips planned in the near future, but I’m definitely taking it with me when we go. It’s so comfortable!
It’s a little lower than a normal bed would be, but when you get out of it in the morning you don’t feel like you’re getting up off the ground. The inflated dimensions are 78 x 60 x 15 in. It’s just about the size of a regular mattress, and queen size sheets fit perfectly so you can even bring your favorite sheets camping with you to make yourself more comfortable. Like a queen mattress at home, there is plenty of room for you, the kids, and the dog to all hang out.
Speaking of the kids and the dog, don’t limit your air mattress use to camping. The DuraRest is so easy to inflate with the 120 volt included pump that you can use it any time you want to – for movie night with the family in the living room, for a comfy place to hang out when you’re sick but don’t want to stay in your room, and for unexpected guests as well. It’s also 47% more puncture‐resistant and 25% stronger than a standard Coleman® airbed, so it’s good for extended use. The mattress supports 600 lbs., which means even if you have a lot of kids, you don’t have to worry it will pop if they’re all hanging out on it watching a movie.
The AirTight® system is factory‐tested to be leak‐free, though the mattress did feel softer in the morning. However, that could have been an effect of the air inside getting cooler and compressing, or even the plastic stretching a little with the warmth of my house and the first use. I noticed because I was looking for details and probably wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. It wasn’t like I found myself in a big sinkhole in the middle the next morning. If you’ve ever slept on a cheaply made air mattress you’re familiar with the sinkhole. It is also not affected by humidity as I have a best quality dehumidifier at my home.
When you’re done using it, you just deflate it, pop it back into the carry bag, and stick it in the closet for next time. It has a one year warranty as well so you don’t have to be afraid to use it. All in all, I’m really happy with it and can’t wait to take it on a trip! Camping is so much more fun when you actually sleep through the night.
