It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Um, Christmas is a magical time spent with friends and family! Our family gathers every Christmas to create NEW memories and to share ones from the past. With all of the Christmas events coming up, I thought it would be wondrous to make a special little treat for the little ones to enjoy. I picked up some adorable clear plastic cups from the dollar tree to make treat cups and I thought it’d be FUN to fill them with red pudding for the holiday season. As if that wasn’t perfect enough, I figured I’d pull out the silhouette machine and make some adorable Gingerbread girls. After these cups are used for the pudding just rinse them out and fill them with water, juice or any other tasty treat for the kids. I hope you enjoy this tutorial.
Gingerbread Pudding Cups Tutorial
What’s needed:
• Brown Vinyl
• White Vinyl
• Light Pink Vinyl
• Dark Pink Vinyl
• Black Vinyl
• Silhouette Cutting Machine
• Plastic cups (I bought mine from the Dollar Tree)
• Red Pudding (Optional)
Directions:
Head over to the online Silhouette site and GRAB the Christmas Gingerbread girl to complete this project. After you have purchased the file head over to the Silhouette Design studio and open it up from your library. (If it doesn’t appear at first head over to pending downloads and get it from there)
Open up the image and right click and select “release compound path” then right click again and select “ungroup”. Ungrouping will allow us to move the images as needed for different vinyl color cutting. The file will open up with several pieces we won’t be using for this project. Go through and delete the images as shown on my screen.
Once your images have been deleted it’s time to cut. I made a total of five cuts using different color vinyl. I did the gingerbread bodies first in brown, followed by the black eyes and mouth, followed by the pink buttons and bow and then the final cut is the pink cheeks.
For cut settings make sure your materials are set to vinyl and your blade is set to a 2. Load your vinyl onto your cutting mat one at a time and run it through your machine. Once the cuts are complete weed the excess vinyl material and set pieces aside.
This project was super duper easy I didn’t even have to use transfer tape, I solely did everything by hand. Taking my clear cup I first put down the brown gingerbread body. After the body was firmly pressed down I added the white lines on the head, hands and feet. Next, I added the cute hot pink buttons and the bow to the left side of her head. After that was all done I added the eyes, mouth and cheeks which finished off the girly gingerbread look.
These cups are great for kids which are perfect for parties and to make them even more fun I added red pudding into the cups for the kids. Top off with some decorative Christmas straws and you have a sweet Christmas treat.
To make the pudding, I just whipped up some vanilla pudding and added in some red food coloring, super easy to make.
