There’s a reason bars are packed on karaoke night – because people love to sing, even if they’re not so good at it. Those of you who love music will really appreciate this gift idea I was asked to review – the Singing Machine SML385 CDG Karaoke System with Disco Lights. Even if you can’t carry a tune to save your life, you’ll love using it, and so will anyone who is lucky enough to be the recipient of it on Christmas morning.
Not only is it a cool machine, a great idea, and reasonably priced, but it looks good too! You can get the machine in either black or white, and it has an LED display and customizable controls above the Disco Lights. Yes, I said Disco lights! There are 56 of them! You can turn off the lights in your house and light up your living room like it’s Studio 54 if you want to! How cool is that? The machine can be hooked up to just about any TV to scroll lyrics to your favorite songs, so no matter how you sound, you’ll at least get the words right! The top-loading CD player plays CD+G and regular CDs as well.
The singing machine has auto voice control, balance and echo controls, and 2 microphone jacks with volume controls, so if your singing sounds more like an injured donkey, the machine will make it not quite so bad that the neighbors complain, and if you have a great voice, it will make you sound like a pro!
The unit comes with a demo disc, so you and your family can get started BELTING out your favorite tunes on Christmas morning as soon as it’s opened. Microphone and RCA jacks are included. All you need is your TV.
It’s a really cool machine to have in your home for the whole family. The kids will absolutely love it, their friends will love it, and so will you. This year, instead of going out on New Year’s Eve, spending a ton of money, and worrying about getting home, why not host a karaoke party at your own house?
Its nice portable size (10.5 x 9.1 x 13.1) makes it easy to take with you as well. Um, you’ll be invited to bring it with you to all sorts of gatherings – everyone wants to take a turn! Even Grandma. (Though you probably shouldn’t sing about her getting run over by the reindeer while she’s around!)
The Singing machine is available at Walmart.com and retails for $49.99. Hurry up and get one for all the music lovers on your list! It’s probably going to be one of those things that sells out fast.
