I’m partnering with Luvs and Vocalpoint.com to make some really cute baby shower décor, and I came up with Baby Bottle Sprinkles. I’m really excited to show you this very simple and very adorable craft. We’re going for the party theme “Sprinkled with Luvs”. These bottles make the cutest centerpieces.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Clear Baby Bottle
- Sprinkles (in your choice of color/s)
- Big Lollipop (or suckers)
- Candy (any kind)
- Super Glue
- Ribbon (any color)
- Duct Tape (in your choice of color)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Take the duct tape and wrap it around the ring.
2: Dabble the glue onto the outside of the ring. Don’t glue the inside (you may want to remove the ring for another project).
3: Dip the ring into the sprinkles, and let it dry. Once dry, put the nipple back into the ring and slightly cut the nipple. You don’t have to use the nipple, if you don’t like. I didn’t use it.
4: Layer the bottle with sprinkles, being sure to leave some extra space at the top for the candy.
5: Add the candy on top of the sprinkles, and fill them to the top.
6. Affix the ring onto the bottle.
7. Wrap the ribbon around the lollipop and gently tie it.
8: Insert the lollipop into the bottle. That’s it.
Didn’t it come out cute? It was really inexpensive to make too. I got all of the supplies from the dollar store and party city.
Because this craft is baby shower décor, let’s talk about new moms for a minute. My advice for any first-time mom is to realize that you don’t have to be perfect to be a good parent, and in this world of people only putting their best moments on social media and pinning their very best recipes on Pinterest, it’s easy to feel less than adequate. The truth is that you’re only seeing someone’s highlight reel, and you can’t judge yourself like that.
All moms make mistakes, all moms yell at their kids, and all moms need a break. The perfect mom doesn’t exist. I know parents who have been doing this for over 20 years and make parenting mistakes daily. It’s life. My hope is that my friend that we’re having the baby shower for understands this and isn’t too hard on herself.
How about you? Do you feel like you have to be perfect to be a great mom?
