POLLY-O Twist Cheese, turkey sausage and chilli? Can you say…YUM! Um, we sure can! This is most likely the BEST Smoked Turkey Sausage Chilli Cheese Dog you’ll ever taste. It’s kid-friendly, it’s delicious, it’s SUPER light, and it’s unbelievably easy to prepare. Besides, who doesn’t love simple and delicious, right? They’re the perfect combination for those (like myself) who don’t have a whole lot of time to spend in the kitchen cooking. And, um, there’s something about eating Smoked Turkey Sausage Chili Cheese Dogs that make ME feel all warm and fuzzy inside, maybe it’s the chilli and the yummy twisty cheese? Doesn’t matter the time or year – everyday is Smoked Turkey Sausage Chili Cheese Dog time, especially in our house. Well, not everyday! It still amazes me on how good these chilli dogs are, they’re really AMAZING!! And, baking them really makes the flavors POP!
The POLLY-O/Kraft Twist Cheese most definitely brings this chili dog recipe together. With its ooey gooey taste and melty goodness, it’s the perfect cheese to add to all of your kid’s meals and lunches. Our favorite flavor would definitely have to be the cracked black pepper (It’s so freaking GOOD!) but they have other flavorsome varieties including Tomato Basil and Jalapeno. And, they’re all pretty good and I love the fact that they’re not too overpowering! Um, I’m seriously thinking about adding some cracked black pepper cheese to my Macaroni and Cheese, I bet that’ll taste amazing! Now that my creative juices are flowing, I think I’m going to get started on that this week. If it’s GOOD, I’ll post the recipe for you guys soon. So, stay-tuned for that!
Oven Baked Smoked Turkey Sausage Chili Cheese Dogs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 13.5oz package of Johnsonville Smoked Turkey Sausage
- 1 19 oz can of Cambell’s Chunky Beef and Bean Road House Chilli
- 1 cup of Kraft Mexican Style Cheddar Jack Shredded Cheese (to garnish)
- ½ cup of chopped Red or Yellow Onions (optional)
- 6 Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat Hot Dog Rolls
- 3 Kraft Polly-O Natural 2% Milk Mozzarella & Cheddar Cheese Twists (Cut Lengthwise)
How to Make It:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease medium sized baking pan with olive oil, then set aside.
Cut the Smoked Turkey Sausage down the middle, but not all the way.
Slice your cheese in half and place one (half ) of the cheese into the Smoked Turkey Sausage.
Top with chilli, shredded cheese and onion, and place your dish into the oven.
Baked the chilli dogs for about 15-20 (or until the cheese is thoroughly melted), but if you want the bread more toasted just leave the chilli dogs in for a few extra minutes, then remove. After about a minute, serve and enjoy!
Serve with mustard (if you like) and some potato chips.
