Who doesn’t love holiday themed crafts? Um, they’re fun, they’re cheery and they’re something that both parents and kids alike ENJOY making together. Um, the holiday season is a jubilant time, right? So, making holiday themed crafts with your kids (or your mom group) can really add to the cheerfulness of the season, right? Yes, it can! You don’t have to be an experienced crafter to enjoy making crafts with your kids, all you need is a little holiday cheer and maybe a few big GULPS of coffee (hey, it really does help).
And.
I know that it’s convenient (and easy) to purchase ready-made Christmas decorations, but what’s the FUN in that? It’s far more fun and festive to make your own holiday crafts, don’t you think? Um, we certainly do! Making homemade crafts is a great way to spend quality time with your kids, especially during the winter break. You can make some FUN and festive crafts for your friends and family, or you can simply make them for yourself. Today, we’re going to be making some beautiful candy cane candle holders! They’re super easy to make and they make a great focal point atop your mantle. Let’s get started, shall we?
DIY Candy Cane Candle Holder
What you’ll need:
Glue Gun
Candy Canes (any color)
Holiday Ribbon (any color)
3 Taper Candles (any color)
Blank Christmas Tags (any color)
Crayola Washable Markers (any color)
Plaid Stencils (they’re available at Walmart)
Step One:
Using your glue gun, take the taper candle and add a speck of glue to the candle wrapper (please make sure you DON’T remove the plastic wrapping from your candle or else the glue won’t stick). Then affix the candy cane/s to the candle, until your candle thoroughly coated with candy canes. Let dry! DIY Candy Cane Candle Holder
Step Two:
Cut three 3″ pieces of Holiday Ribbon then set aside. Using your glue gun, gently add a speck (or two) of glue onto the candy cane, then wrap the Holiday Ribbon around the candle holder until it’s tightly in place (you can add more glue, if needed). Let dry!
Step three:
After the ribbon has been affixed to the candy cane candle holder, take the stencil (of your choice and letters) then take the maker and trace the letter onto the tag, let dry!
Finally, affix the tag onto the ribbon (you can place the tag wherever you like, it’s completely up to you). Now….you’re all done. Easy peasy, right? These adorable little candy cane candy holders are perfect for holiday entertaining, and your guest will absolutely love them. They’re cute, right?
Here’s the finished results:
