We love party wings in our house. They are probably my husband’s favorite food however we don’t like the expense that comes with going out to eat for wings or ordering them in. We’ve tried lots of different sauce recipes and different cooking methods and have some we really love. We’ve grilled them and tossed them in a homemade Cilantro Lime BBQ Sauce, made traditional buffalo wings and now have a new favorite – Sweet and Spicy Honey Mustard Party Wings!
SWEET AND SPICY HONEY MUSTARD PARTY WINGS
Ingredients:
- 20 thawed chicken wings and drummies
- 4 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- 1 tsp red hot sauce (we use Tabasco)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Rinse and dry the chicken wings and place them on a baking rack over a cookie sheet. I have found if you sprinkle the cookie sheet with a bit of table salt it cuts down on grease smoke. Brush the wings with olive oil on both sides. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes on each side. You can turn the oven to broil if needed to finish the crisping process.
Heat the honey in a medium size bowl until it turns to liquid. Add the mustard, hot sauce, and seasonings to the honey and stir well.
Remove the wings from the oven and toss in the honey mustard sauce, coating generously.
Serve the wings with veggie sticks and the remaining sauce for dipping. You can also serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing as well! If you like sweet and spicy you’ll love this sauce! It has surprising heat but the sweet of the honey is a nice offset to the spice.
