Strawberry Cake in Mini Mason Jars

by

I love the idea of individual desserts made in coffee mugs and mason jars.  With Valentine’s Day coming up Strawberry Cake in Mini Mason Jars is a perfect dessert that’s easy to make for just two!

Strawberry Cake

Strawberry Cake in Mini Mason Jars

Ingredients:

  • fresh strawberries – 2 or 3 large berries for each jar cake
  • dry yellow or white cake mix – You’ll use about 1/2 of a regular cake mix for 4 jar cakes
  • 2/3 stick of real butter – for 4 jar cakes
  • mini mason jars

Strawberry Cake

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Rinse and slice the strawberries.  Place the strawberries into the bottom of each mason jar.

Strawberry Cake

Sprinkle 1-2 tbsp of dry cake mix over the strawberries in each jar.  Tap the jar just a little to let some of the cake mix settle in around the berries.

Strawberry Cake

Melt the butter in the microwave and drizzle over top of the cake mix.  The mix does not need to be completely covered with butter.

Strawberry Cake

Place jars onto a cookie sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until cake is golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Serve in the mason jars or on a pretty plate!
