Do you LOVE candles? Decorating with flameless candles is an easy and safe way to add ambiance and character to any room in your home. There are a variety of QUICK DIY and simple ways to create festive candle holders and gorgeous tablescapes. Here are a few projects that anyone can create with their FAVORITE flameless candle and a little imagination.
1. Lit Wine Bottle Collection
Wine bottles add a bit of elegance to any occasion — so why not CREATE a lighted centerpiece with them? They’re cute, right? Start by washing the wine bottles. Soak some string in a small bowl of fingernail polish remover while the bottles air dry. Then tie the string securely around the bottom of one of the wine bottles. Thoroughly wash your hands and don some safety goggles before proceeding. Clear an open space on your patio or in your fireplace. Place the wine bottle on the pavement or in the firebox. Light the string on fire. Use a long-handled lighter to ensure a safe ignition distance. As the flame circles the bottle, it will cut the glass with a perfectly smooth edge. Do this with three bottles, wrapping the string around each bottle at various heights. Once you have the three bottomless wine bottles, place a small flameless candle under each wine bottle and display them on a beautiful platter.
2. Mason Jar Garden Lights
Mason jars are a popular trend in do-it-yourself home decor. The jars come in a variety of colors, so choose one that you find most appealing. Remove the metal lid and the metal screw band. Using a small drill bit and an electric drill, insert two small holes in the top of the jar’s metal screw band. Discard the lid. Then string a small chain or thin rope through the holes and insert a flameless candle into the jar. Replace the metal screw band. Use the rope or chain to hang on your patio or anywhere you desire.
3. Eternity Lights
Do you LOVE eternity lights? Placing a row of flameless candles in front of a mirror creates an illusion that is breathtaking. Choose candle holders for your display. Tiny terra cotta pots or glass votive holders are a nice choice. Add the flameless candles and any additional decorations you desire. Then simply place a mirror behind the row of candles.
4. Seasonal Decorations
Seasonal decorating can be FUN, right? Choosing flameless candles for your seasonal decor allows you to use as much GREENERY as you’d like. Forget about combustible leaves, flowers, pine cones and twigs becoming a fire hazard. You can create candle holders, such as this Twig Candle Holder, out of combustible materials and rest easy that your family and home are safe.
5. Bundled Pillars
Bundling pillar candles with ribbon and placing them inside of a hurricane vase creates a beautiful centerpiece. Using flameless candles, however, will lessen the chance of an accidental fire. Flameless candles that come with timers are ideal for most home decor projects. The timer can be set to turn the lights on at dusk or WHENEVER you choose.
This also ELIMINATES the need to disassemble the project in order to turn off the flameless candles.
